Did you know that you can even DIY your wedding bands? Yes you can, and its pretty cool if you're looking for the unusual rings. We're not talking about twigs and rings from the Cracker Jack box either! Real 14k and 18k rings! Making it yourself would be a plus to ensure the right size and style are what you really want. This leads us to promise #2 - wearing your wedding ring.
I know, this is another "duh" kind of thing - but believe me there will be those days that you want to leave it on the dresser, the sink, your desk, anywhere but the third finger of your left hand. Even when you don't have that lovey-dovey feeling about your spouse for whatever reason, wearing your ring is a powerful reminder of that best day ever and more importantly, that there is someone you promised to be with through thick and thin, sunshine or rain, sickness or pain. The ring is a powerful symbol and wearing it should be a part of who you are no matter what. Yes, I've been guilty of not wearing my ring a day or two, but I've also been guilty of turning around after leaving home and realizing that I've forgotten my rings. My husband rolled his eyes at this, but secretly I think he was touched (or thought I was and not in a good way!)
Say what you want, but your rings take on greater meaning as time goes on, and no matter what, they will mark an important time in your life. So whether you DIY your rings or get them from the jeweler, keep them sparkly and clean, wear it with pride and look at it and smile even when you're mad, the memory of it being placed on your finger will give you that lovey dovey feeling all over again.
Tune in tomorrow for promise #3!
